Live pulse
Liquid, AI-focused public equities—infrastructure, platforms, and security. Not a recommendation; many AI leaders are still private. Refreshed about every minute. Not investment advice.
Tools I work with
Utah Valley University · NVIDIA DLI
I refresh applied-AI course content every term and deliver NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute workshops as a University Ambassador — GPU-accelerated labs, free for students at participating universities, with DLI-style certificates where available.
CS 4720R
Fall 2026 · in-person
Real client projects for students with little or no prior AI experience — applied tools, portfolio deliverables, and industry-facing work.
CS 6470
Fall 2026 · online (MS-AAI)
Graduate machine learning for UVU's applied-AI track — supervised and unsupervised methods, evaluation, and project work.
CS-2700
Fall 2026 · online
Applied causal reasoning and data-science practice, redesigned around hands-on analysis rather than theory alone.
CS-1400
Fall 2026 · online
Introductory programming with current applied-AI tooling and hands-on labs in a coordinated multi-section course.
NVIDIA DLI · certified instructor
The workshop that led to my NVIDIA University Ambassador designation — multi-agent patterns, tool use, and GPU-accelerated labs. Delivered on campus for ~30 UVU students.
~8 hours (typical DLI workshop)
Train neural networks for classification and detection with hands-on PyTorch labs on GPU-accelerated cloud instances.
Applied GenAI
Retrieval-augmented generation, prompt patterns, and safe deployment of LLM-powered assistants.
Foundations
Diffusion and generative fundamentals with practical exercises — aligned with industry demand.
Available for universities worldwide. Student workshops are offered at no charge to students; logistics vary by institution.
Bridging academia & industry
I design new AI courses to close the gap between what universities teach and what industry needs. One example: an innovation and entrepreneurship course focused on Education Technology. Students discover real problems in K-12 and higher education, propose AI-powered solutions, build working prototypes using no-code tools (cloud-hosted n8n), and pitch their EdTech startup to mentors and judges. No programming experience required — co-taught by a computer scientist and an education expert, with mentoring and guest lectures from UVU's Baugh Entrepreneurship Institute.
Public sector
As Principal AI Architect at the Gary R. Herbert Institute for Public Policy (Nov 2024 — Present), I lead state-level collaborations with Utah agencies. Students work alongside me on these initiatives — gaining hands-on public-sector AI experience.
AI applied to data governance and privacy management — improving compliance efficiency and strengthening transparency and public trust.
AI-driven solutions that reduce manual review time and expand secure access to data for research and policy innovation.
Helping Utah build a modern, responsible data foundation that supports research while safeguarding citizens.
Building additional AI solutions for more Utah departments — intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making at scale.
Responsible, privacy-preserving AI partnerships with state and local agencies.
Mentorship
I mentor 10+ undergraduate researchers each year (20+ since Fall 2024) on funded projects — DataGovAI, AI-STER, AI-ClassSims, synthetic data, and inspection AI — from architecture to deployment, at no cost to students.

AI Utah, Silicon Slopes & Utah tech
I contribute to AI Utah — Utah's AI user group and community hub for practitioners, events, and collaboration (including programs like AI Utah 100). I show up, bring students, and help them plug into that network.
I'm also active in Silicon Slopes, the nonprofit helping Utah founders grow — connecting learners with founders, hiring managers, and collaborators across the broader tech ecosystem.
Contact
AI consulting, workshops, team training, student mentorship, or a research collaboration — send a message. UVU students can also book office hours.
My active client work is AI consulting and team training. That includes advisory sessions on what to adopt and when not to use AI, instructor-led workshops, and hands-on training for your team. Commercial engagements go through Nexus AI Solutions. When a team needs a system built, that is a separate, scoped statement of work.
I deliver instructor-led workshops and in-house team training — typically a half-day or full-day session, or a short series. NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute workshops use GPU-accelerated labs and DLI-style certificates of completion. Campus student sessions are offered at no charge to students at participating universities. Organizational training is scoped to your team's tools and goals.
Email me with a short note about your background and what you'd like to learn — Python and curiosity are a plus, formal experience is not required. Internships are fully online, on a rolling intake, and there's no cost to students.
Yes. I integrate with AWS, Azure, GCP, on-prem, and hybrid setups. My work spans Python, PyTorch, LangChain, Next.js, n8n, and modern cloud-native architectures.
We start with a discovery conversation to understand your goals and constraints. From there I propose a phased plan — usually a focused proof-of-concept first, then iteration toward production deployment with ongoing support.
Security and privacy are core to every engagement. I build with encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access, audit logging, and alignment with frameworks like HIPAA, FERPA, and state data-privacy regulations — especially relevant in my Utah public-sector work.
